NZ Technology to be Used in UK Sewage Works
A British company, Chesterfield BioGas, has won a pioneering contract to supply New Zealand technology to British Gas's parent group, Centrica.
The Sheffield-based firm has secured an order worth more than 600,000 pounds ($NZ1.26 million) to supply a cleaning plant to process gas from a sewage works, so that it can be fed directly into the mains and used by domestic and commercial customers.
Chesterfield has a partnership with Greenlane Biogas Limited, a brand of New Zealand-based Flotech which is a world leader in the processing and upgrading of raw biogas into compressed biomethane.
Flotech has more than 20 years' experience in installing biomethane generation plants and more than 25 are in operation in Sweden, Spain, Iceland, Canada, the Far East and in Germany.
